Program Plus is the most effective heartworm medication available and contains Milbemycin oxime and Lufenuron. Milbemycin oxime is highly effective for the prevention of heartworm disease and in the control of hookworm, roundworm and whipworm. When combined with Lufenuron it is also used to control fleas by preventing the development of flea eggs. The medication does not kill adult fleas. For a complete flea control program, Sentinel / Program Plus may be given along with Capstar tablets (sold separately). Capstar kills adult fleas within 30 minutes.

How should this medication be given;
Give Sentinel / Program Plus once a month on the same day of the month all year round. Do not give to cats. If your pet is off heartworm for more than 6 months then it is advisable that heartworm testing should be performed prior to the start of prevention therapy. If however your pet is off heartworm medication for less than six months, then re-start the medication and do heartworm testing again after 6 months. Do not remove tablet from wrapper until ready to give the medicine. Watch your dog closely after dosing to ensure that the entire dose has been swallowed. If it is not completely swallowed then give one more full recommended dose as soon as possible.
